Kevin Pearson, Rector

Kevin came to St. Luke’s Church in the Spring of 2004. A native of the Pacific Northwest. he did his undergraduate studies in religion at Seattle Pacific University and received his master’s degree at General Theological Seminary in New York City. Kevin is currently working on a doctoral degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He has been a priest for 18 years, serving congregations in Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco prior to coming to St. Luke’s.

Worship and the crafting of liturgy are his first loves. He says, “At its best, worship allows us to transcend our individuality and touch the Mystery together. What an experience that is to have as a regular part of life! And I find that the more we open ourselves to the Divine Life in worship, the more we notice ourselves in God’s presence most anywhere—our worlds become enlivened by the Spirit.”

In addition to his work at St. Luke’s, Kevin serve as chaplain at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle and serves on the hospital’s Institutional Review Board.

He and his partner live near the Sound in Burien with their dog, Sparky.  They love regular walks on the beach and woods and are grateful for the beauty of this area they call home.

Kevin is available for appointments Tuesday through Thursday and can be reached at the church at 425-255-3323 or kevindavidpearson@yahoo.com

Rich Pellegrin, Director of Musicrich1

Rich  Pellegrin uses his diverse skills to present a unique musical experience that has something for everyone. Having instrumental training on percussion, harpsichord, organ, and classical and jazz piano, Rich plays everything from Bach organ works and traditional Episcopal hymns and service music to African drums at St. Luke’s.

Rich’s eclectic musical interests make him good match for St. Luke’s, where we use a wide range of music from Anglican and other traditions.

As choir director, Rich constantly trys to challenge the ensemble, while still keeping the rehearsals accessible to all levels of singers who participate.  To this end, he emphasizes fundamentals over difficulty of repertoire.

While St. Luke’s has a terrific corps of singers, we are always looking for more – you are welcome to stop by a rehearsal Sunday morning at 9:15 to see how you like it.

Outside of St. Luke’s, Rich teaches undergraduate courses at the University of Washington where he is a Ph.D. candidate in music theory and studies jazz piano.
