Formation
We invite you to walk with us, following Jesus, deeper in wisdom, deeper in common life, deeper into the mystery, mind, heart and work of God.
Godly Play
Our young children are formed in faith by Godly Play which is conducted in St. Timothy’s Chapel (the nation’s first chapel designed for children’s use) at 10:30 am. The Children and their teachers, then enter the church in procession to exchange the Peace of Christ. The goal of Godly Play is to teach children the art of using religious language—parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action—to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.
Adult Education
Adults gather regularly after the 10:30 AM liturgy for bible study and reflection. Several times per year various formation programs are offered for newcomers, in preparation for Confirmation, on-going Christian formation, and special programs of study.
Parish Life
Our Parish Life Committee helps to facilitate a sense of celebration in our common life by organizing social events and gatherings and lending their leadership knowledge and talents to other groups and individuals who are called to throw a party at St. Luke’s.
Stewardship
We are all called to be faithful with the gifts God has placed before us. Stewardship at St. Luke’s is about our joining God in abundant life and extending that abundance in common life and to projects and people in need.
Many at St. Luke’s work to ensure that the gifts and offerings of life and labor are made use of carefully and faithfully. Vestry members ensure that our programs are properly funded, and account for expenditures. Our Finance Committee supports the vestry and congregation with a regular accounting of funds. Our Endowment Committee manages the parishes Endowed funds and promotes legacy giving among the parish.
St. Luke’s is entirely dependant upon the grace of God and the gifts God’s people offer for the our mission and ministry.
